Microsoft Excel Essentials

This introductory course is suitable for complete beginners to Excel and those who are self-taught. It is aimed at anyone who needs to use a spreadsheet incorporating simple calculations on a regular basis.
We have broken the course down into 2 half day sessions as we feel that this gives the delegate an opportunity to practice the initial skills and gain confidence before moving on to the second section.
Course duration:
2 x half day sessions
Course Content: Session 1
- Create a new excel workbook
- Edit an existing workbook
- Save, open and close Excel workbook
- Enter text and numeric data
- Adjust column widths and row heights
- Insert/delete a column/row
- Enter a simple formulae (understanding BODMAS)
- Use Autosum
- Use Autofill, replication tool
- Format data as currency etc

- Merge and centre cell content
- Average function
- Page orientation/headers and footers
- Gridlines/row and column headings
- Page Breaks/fit to page
- Borders and shading to cells
- Printing
- Simple charts and graphs
Description:
This course, broken down into 2 bite size sessions, will give you the skills you need to get started with Excel. You will become familiar with the screen layout and the structure of the workbook itself.
No previous Spreadsheet knowledge is required, although some keyboard skills are desirable.
You will gain confidence and sufficient skills in excel to enter, edit and format data. You will become familiar with formulas and functions and will be able to carry out calculations and create simple graphs.
